Life is Too Messy to Settle for Ordinary

Jerseline “Jessy” Granviel always felt a strong desire to improve, grow, and become her best self. She also had a strange urge—the wish to live on after she passed away. She understood that the way to reach both goals was by finding herself, becoming better, and helping others.

However, instead of life giving Jessy a solid Type A mind and personality, good education, growth opportunities, and financial prosperity, she was handed a life of constant anxiety and a chaotic personality. Rather than being surrounded only by people who helped her grow and loved her, she met some who caused harm. Her growth opportunities were limited, her education was average, and economic struggles became an ongoing battle.

What did she do? Jessy chose to face the pain of adversity and embrace the transformative power of God’s love and compassion. This deep personal journey helped her dedicate her life to helping others. Through this discovery, she uncovered talents hidden beneath the struggle—a writer, counselor, Bible teacher, and facilitator with a clear mission: Connect, Relate, and Inspire others so they can also overcome challenges and flourish in their relationships and faith.

“Our prayer should always be, Lord, break my heart for what breaks Yours. Give me Your vision so I won’t overlook the needs of others. Lord, lay some soul upon my heart and love that soul through me.

~ Jessy Granviel

Little girls in the generation before mine used to drape pillowcases over their heads and practice walking down the aisle. By the time I came along, things had already changed. In our teenage years, careers were the new ambition. Me? I didn’t hesitate: I want a good man who will love me, marry me, and build me a house. My whole ambition, right there. My peers had an opinion about that answer: “I was either weird or hot.” My dream was never just about the wedding. It was about the whole life...read more

The Kind of Growth God Notices and Honors

Tucked between the pages of Scripture is a story about a woman whose name rarely comes up in conversation. Yet during one of the most critical spiritual moments in Judah’s history, when leaders needed to hear from God — they went to her. Ever heard of Huldah? Her story appears in 2 Kings 22. Huldah lived quietly in Jerusalem, in the Second Quarter of the city, not the prestigious side. She was a prophetess, yes, but also simply a wife. Her husband Shallum held a steady, respectable government position...read more

Christ in Hard Times - Part 1

When You Feel Unseasoned, turn to the Reason of the Season Leila pressed her temples, her eyes closed against the morning light. After three nights without sleep, everything felt thin and scattered. “I don’t even recognize my life right now.” Vivian shifted on the sofa but said nothing. She knew. The call had come three days ago—Leila’s son had relapsed. Through the glass door, the Caribbean ocean stretched turquoise and still. In the corner, the acrylic Christmas tree cast...read more
